How to choose the type of excavator bucket teeth? How to replace the dipper teeth correctly?


The bucket tooth is the terminal of the working device of the excavator. In the process of excavation, the bucket tip is the working part with the largest load and belongs to the consumable part. Especially in the stonework construction environment, the bucket point wear is very fast. The use of bucket teeth can directly affect the working efficiency and production cost of excavator.


01. Select the appropriate type of bucket teeth/tip

The specific bucket teeth type shall be determined according to the working environment. Generally, flat bucket teeth shall be used for excavation, weathered sand, surface coal, etc. RC type bucket teeth are used to dig massive hard rock, TL type bucket teeth are generally used to dig massive coal seam, and TL bucket teeth can improve the block rate of coal. In actual use, users often like general RC type bucket teeth. It is recommended not to use RC type bucket teeth in special cases. It is better to use flat head bucket teeth, because RC type bucket teeth increase the digging resistance and waste power like "fist" after a period of wear, while flat mouth bucket teeth always keep a sharp surface in the process of wear, reducing the digging resistance and saving fuel.


02. Replace excavator bucket teeth/tip in time

When the tip part of the bucket teeth is seriously worn, the strength required by the excavator to cut in during the digging operation will increase greatly, resulting in greater fuel consumption and affecting the work efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the new bucket teeth in time when the bucket teeth loss is serious.


03. Replace the bucket adaptor/holder in time

The wearing condition of the bucket holder base is also very important for the service life of the excavator bucket teeth. It is recommended to replace the bucket adaptor base after worn out by 10% - 15%. Because there is a large gap between the worn adaptor base and the bucket teeth, the matching and the stress point of the bucket teeth and the holder base have changed, and the bucket teeth have broken due to the change of the stress point.


04. Daily inspection and fastening

In the daily maintenance of excavator, take 2 minutes to check the bucket every day. The main inspection content is: the bucket body is the degree of wear and whether there are cracks. If the degree of wear is serious, reinforcement should be considered. As for the cracks in the bucket body, timely repair welding should be carried out to avoid increasing the length of the cracks due to delayed maintenance, resulting in the situation that maintenance is impossible. In addition, kick the bucket teeth to check whether they are stable. If the bucket teeth are loose, they should be fastened immediately.


05. Replace position after wear

It has been proved that the outer teeth of the excavator bucket wear 30% faster than the inner teeth in the process of using. It is suggested that the inner and outer teeth of the excavator bucket should be replaced after a period of time.


06. Pay attention to driving methods

The driving method of the excavator driver is also very important to improve the utilization ratio of the bucket teeth. The excavator driver should try not to retract the bucket when lifting the big arm. If the driver lifts the big arm and retracts the bucket at the same time, the bucket teeth will be subject to an upward traction force, and the bucket teeth will be torn from the top, so as to tear the bucket teeth. This operation should pay special attention to the action Coordination. Some excavator drivers often use excessive force in the action of enlarging arm and sending small arm, and "knock" the scoop on the rock or throw it on the rock, which will break the teeth of the scoop, or easily crack the scoop and knock the big and small arms.

During the operation of the excavator, the driver shall pay attention to the angle operation during the excavation as much as possible. When the bucket teeth are dug down, they shall be perpendicular to the working face, or the camber angle shall not be greater than 120 degrees, so as to avoid breaking the bucket teeth due to the excessive inclination angle. It should also be noted not to swing the digging arm left and right under the condition of large resistance, so that the bucket teeth and the tooth base will be broken due to the excessive left and right forces, because the mechanical design principle of most types of bucket teeth does not consider the left and right force design.
