Daily maintenance of excavator hydraulic cylinders

The hydraulic system needs to be stable and reliable. The working principle of the hydraulic system is to rely on hydraulic oil as power transmission medium. The hydraulic oil is pressurized by the main pump and transferred to each working device through the conversion of the control valve to do work, which plays a key role in the energy transmission of the whole machine.

Daily maintenance of excavator hydraulic cylinder:

1. Hydraulic oil should be replaced regularly during the use of the cylinder, and the filter screen of the system should be cleaned to ensure cleanliness and prolong service life.

2. In each use of the hydraulic cylinder, the full-expansion and full-contraction test run should be carried out for five journeys and then run on load. By doing so, the air in the system can be exhausted and the systems can be preheated, which can effectively avoid the existence of air or water in the system, and cause gas explosion (or burning) in the cylinder block, which will damage the seals and cause leakage in the cylinder and other faults.

3. Controlling the temperature of the system properly will reduce the service life of the seals if the oil temperature is too high. Long-term high oil temperature will make the seals deform or even completely invalidate.

4. Protect the outer surface of the piston rod to prevent the damage of the sealing parts caused by bumps and scratches. Frequently clean up the sediment on the parts of the dustproof ring of the dynamic seal of the cylinder and the bare piston rod, and prevent the dirt which is not easy to clean from the surface of the piston rod from entering the cylinder and damaging the piston, cylinder or sealing parts.

5. Check the connecting parts of threads and bolts regularly and tighten them immediately after loosening.

6. Frequently lubricate joints to prevent rust or abnormal wear in oil-free condition.
